•Protecting Honor• [Griff&Hanabi]
“It does not matter what you have had to deal with before. This country is my home, and only the most qualified people should run it. We well see what you are capable of soon enough. We are at war after all,” Griff said in a serious tone. After all a duchess had a very important job within the kingdom. This one would still have to prove herself to either his sister or himself before he would consider her worthy.

“I think I’ve proven myself well enough, if I’ve already been assigned to this position, don’t you think? That is, unless your country is naive enough to assign positions this important without some type of test. So, really, I think I’m plenty qualified.” Hanabi’s dull lavender eyes studied him, before looking away boredly. Surely the people here should be more interesting than this, right?
“This is a war, yes.. Trust me, you’ll see me do things sooner than later.”

Griff was walking through the courtyard when he spotted the very young duchess. Honestly, he thought it was completely idiotic that someone so young would get a position of so much honor. “I hope you have what it takes,” he said, not realizing that he had spoken aloud.
Hanabi smirked lightly, tilting her head to the side and staring up at the red-head who has spoken to her, the most innocent of expressions on her face. One might believe she was just another young girl, had the tone in her voice not been a dead give away.
“Tell me, general, have you ever had the burden of leading a clan on your shoulders? Have you ever been forced to train day and night, watch your sister be disowned, and have no choice in the matter? I think I can handle myself, though I thank you for your concern.”
